The Telomere and Telomerase meeting at Cold Spring Harbor had great representation from the Opresko lab this year. Mery and Sam both had talks entitled “The processing of telomeric 8-oxoguanine by OGG1 and MUTYH glycosylases promotes cellular senescence” and “Investigating how chemotherapeutic thiopurines inhibit telomerase elongation of telomeres”, respectively.
